What we offer:
A member of our team can deliver free in-person school visits to schools in Solihull!
Our visits are curriculum-aligned to complement classroom learning. Our resources are designed to be fun and interactive, using crafts, debates, and games to engage students.
Topics covered:
- Explore the Waste Hierarchy (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Recover), and how to implement it into your everyday life. Looking at the waste management and recycling infrastructure in Solihull.
- The Journey of Waste. Trace recycled materials from your home to their final destination.
- Suitable for nursery/ reception - 'Munch and the Funny Tummy'. A storybook written by Veolia employees about the adventures of a recycling truck
Curriculum links:
- Science: learn to identify everyday materials, where they come from, and how they are recycled. Learn about Energy Recovery: how we generate energy from waste
- Geography: learn about resource depletion, climate change and pollution.
- Art: craft activities to promote recycling.
- PSHE: learn to make greener choices, and take responsibility for the community and the environment
Format:
Workshops are usually 1 hour but can be tailored to suit.
